SODOM — TV Murder 1985 Japanese Underground Private Press · Trans Records TRANS-02

From the deepest end of Tokyo's 1980s underground.

TV Murder was the second LP on Trans Records — arguably the most uncompromising independent label in 1980s Japan, run by Masashi Kitamura (of YBO², later founder of the SSE label). Recorded in Tokyo in the late summer of 1985, it is a blend of punk and industrial: factory-floor ambience, tribal rhythm, and cold electronics, made by four musicians credited only as Bara, Hayato, Zazie and Konan.

This is the kind of record that never left Japan in any quantity — a private-press artefact from Nishi-Shinjuku, sought by collectors of Japanese industrial and post-punk the world over, and almost impossible to source outside the country.

Edition & Pressing · Label: Trans Records TRANS-02 (Japan, 1985) · Original pressing, yellow labels, 33 RPM · Genre: Punk / Industrial / New Wave · As issued — no obi or insert is known to have accompanied this release · Note: this title exists with more than one jacket colour variant; this is the sepia portrait variant

Condition (Goldmine standard, graded separately) · Sleeve: VG+ — clean, light age consistent with a 1985 private press · Media: VG+ — plays through cleanly, only faint surface noise between tracks · Cleaned on our ultrasonic system before listing

What you see and read is what ships. Flaws, where present, are photographed up close.

Cleaning & Care

Every record in this shop is individually cleaned on our ultrasonic cleaning system before it is listed — a deep bath process that lifts dust and residue from the groove itself, beyond what a conventional brush reaches. Each disc is then handled with lint-free wipes.

Sleeve and media are graded separately (Goldmine standard), with honest disclosure of any flaws. What you see and read is what ships.
