On the night of April 19, 1975, Queen walked onto a stage in Japan for the very first time. Two days earlier, more than a thousand fans had flooded Haneda Airport to greet them — a welcome the band never forgot. I was inside the Nippon Budokan that night, and this bag was bought in the hall.

I was only a primary-school kid, and most of the show itself has faded from memory. What I do remember is the era: glossy vinyl bags like this one were everywhere in Japan in the mid-'70s, and this was the one you carried home from Queen.

For fifty years it lay forgotten at my family home. When I found it again, it was dusty and worn by time. I washed it gently by hand with mild detergent, and the print came back clean. This is not a tired relic — it is still a usable bag, and it displays beautifully. Now I'd like it to go to someone who knows what that night meant.

Details

  • Black vinyl (PVC) bag, white screen-printed live photo with "Queen On Tour"
  • Approx. 35 × 43 cm (W × H, open)
  • Bought inside the Nippon Budokan, Tokyo, April 19, 1975 — first owner

Condition

  • Print clean overall; slight fading to the lower edge of the word "Tour" (see close-up)
  • Fold crease across the middle and some waviness in the vinyl, consistent with age
  • The vinyl has the faint natural tackiness typical of 1970s PVC — not residue or grime, just the material itself. Part of its period character.
  • Gently hand-washed with mild neutral detergent; no solvents or polishes used
  • Fully usable as a bag

Packing
Shipped flat between card, wrapped in tissue so the vinyl never touches plastic.

...and this was the one you carried home from Queen. As I remember it, they sold out quickly — few people ever got one.
