1981 Japan · Kitty Records 28MK 0025 · with red flexi "White Lagoon" (FR-308)
Japan's greatest fusion guitarist at his most electric — complete with the flexi that eluded the CD age.
Takanaka's eighth album (1981) is a summer-bright run of jazz-funk and city-pop-adjacent fusion: "Speed Of Love," "Feedback's Feel," the title track, "She's Rain." Guitar-forward, impeccably produced, and long adored by collectors far beyond Japan.
This copy includes the first-press "Christmas present" red flexi disc (FR-308) carrying "White Lagoon" — a track that stayed off the CD reissues for decades, making the flexi the piece completists chase. Many surviving copies have lost it; this one keeps it.
Edition & Pressing · Label: Kitty Records 28MK 0025 (Japan, 1981), manufactured by Polydor K.K. · Included red flexi: Kitty FR-308 "White Lagoon," 45 RPM, single-sided · Lyric insert included · Cat / runout: 28MK-0025 A/B
Condition (Goldmine standard, graded separately) · Sleeve: VG+ — clean front, light age only · Media (LP): VG+ — plays through cleanly, only faint surface noise between tracks · Flexi (FR-308): VG+ — red flexi, clean; flexi discs are inherently higher-noise by nature · Included: LP, lyric insert, red "White Lagoon" flexi · Not included: obi (this copy is without obi) · Cleaned on our ultrasonic system before listing
What you see and read is what ships. Flaws, where present, are photographed up close.
Cleaning & Care
Every record in this shop is individually cleaned on our ultrasonic cleaning system before it is listed — a deep bath process that lifts dust and residue from the groove itself, beyond what a conventional brush reaches. Each disc is then handled with lint-free wipes.
Sleeve and media are graded separately (Goldmine standard), with honest disclosure of any flaws. What you see and read is what ships.
